This review is done by my wife , Nancy: I had a 2 cm spot on my left cheek which what I wanted treated as I had smaller (freckle-type) on other areas which I could deal with. Paid $900 for 3 laser treats, plus $150 more for 2 items I used each night (brightening pads & one other which I cannot remember the name). After the 3 treatments and being very careful to use sunscreen, hat, products I paid $150 for and having 2 treatments of burning the big spot on my left cheek, I still have the spots on my left cheek. The spots are not as dark, but they are still there and noticeable. During the treatments of laser and the products there were no comments by friends or family as to a difference noticed. Very disappointed in the whole outcome of a $1,000 plus treatment.

I'm satisfied with the procedure. The front end (Customer Service) is very weak.
A summary of what I experienced versus expectations.
1.) initial visit scheduled with PA and exam resulted in joint decision to have 3 biopsys.
PA did a good job. Since when does it take 2 weeks to get results? I was told to call for results in two weeks. I fully expected this was done to prevent patients from frequent and unnecessary calling.
That said, I certainly expected the office to give me a call when they received the lab results. Didn't happen.
2.) I called at the two week interval as requested. 1st question was " is this you're first timecalling? I responded yes it was. It certainly left me with the impression that the office was potentially unresponsive? I was then told that someone would review my labs and get back to me. Shouldn't that have happened already? I guess not.
3.) I received a call later the same day that confirmed my diagnosis was two areas of skin cancer. Okay, great, now what? The result would be faxed internally for review and determination of procedural options. I clearly felt this was taking much longer than needed. This is not my first skin cancer treatment rodeobut the first with Florida Dermatology.
4.) I was told that I would receive a call by Friday explaining the options and schedule for procedures.
Needless to say Friday came and went without a phone call. No, I didn't call because I have this expectation about professionals and how they should follow through. The next Tuesday I received a call telling me that I had a couple options. Mohs or cut and burn. Mohs would take two visits and the cut procedure would take one. No explanation forthcoming regarding differences in recovery or cost..

I was able to take a canceled appointment and chose the cut and burn proceedure. Again, I have no issue with the P.A that performed the proceedure or medical assistant. Very thorough and helpful. I'm not sure if the Customer service is a reflection of what to expect in my area or if my expectations should be met?
